Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment to visit?

Walk-ins are always welcome at Proctors Jewellery. That said, if you are considering a custom piece, an engagement ring consultation, or a remodelling project, we warmly recommend booking in advance so we can give you our full, undivided attention.

Where are you located?

Our showroom is in Bundaberg, Queensland. Please visit our Visit Us page for full address, hours, and directions.

Is Proctors under new ownership?

Yes. Proctors Jewellery is now under new ownership, and we are proud to continue the reputation and values the Proctors name has carried in Bundaberg for many years. The commitment to personal service, quality, and honesty that has always defined this business remains entirely unchanged. You can read more on our About page.

Can I shop online and have jewellery shipped to me?

Yes. We ship across Australia using insured, tracked courier. We do not use standard post for jewellery. A signature is required upon delivery. Please see our Billing & Shipping page for full details.

Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes. Customers outside of Bundaberg are welcome to book a consultation by phone or video. The experience is the same — unhurried, personal, and without obligation. We have helped customers select and commission pieces from across Australia this way.

What is the difference between a natural diamond and a lab-grown diamond?

Both are real diamonds — chemically, physically and optically identical. Natural diamonds are formed over billions of years in the earth; laboratory-grown diamonds are created in controlled environments that replicate the same conditions. Lab-grown diamonds typically offer better value per carat. We offer both and will explain the differences honestly so you can make the choice that is right for you. Our Diamond & Gemstone Guide explains this in more detail.

How long does a custom piece take to create?

Custom jewellery typically takes between four and eight weeks, depending on the complexity of the design and stone sourcing. We will keep you informed throughout the process and will always confirm timing before commencing.

Can you work with my own gold or stones?

Yes. We honour the sentimental value of inherited jewellery and welcome pieces brought to us for remodelling. Our team will assess your existing metal and stones and guide you through the possibilities with honesty and care. Learn more on our Heirloom Remodelling page.

Do you offer ring resizing?

We resize rings in our Bundaberg workshop. Timeframes and costs vary depending on the design and metal. Please bring your piece in-store for an assessment, or contact us if you are outside Bundaberg.

What if I am unsure of the ring size?

Choosing a ring size for a gift can feel daunting. We offer guidance in-store and are happy to advise on the best approach for your situation. Resizing after the fact is always an option. Our Ring Size Guide also provides a practical method for measuring at home.

Do you offer lay-by?

Yes. We offer lay-by on in-store purchases. Please visit our Lay-by & Payment Options page or speak with our team in store to discuss terms.

Do you offer jewellery repairs?

Yes. From prong re-tipping to clasp replacement and polishing, our workshop handles a wide range of repairs with the same care we bring to new pieces. Please bring your jewellery in-store for an obligation-free assessment, or contact us if you need to send a piece from outside Bundaberg.

Do you provide jewellery valuations?

Yes. We provide written valuations for insurance, estate, and personal purposes. Please contact us or visit in-store to discuss your requirements.

How should I care for my jewellery?

Please visit our Product Care page for guidance on keeping your pieces beautiful for a lifetime.

Can I see your collection before visiting?

Our online store features a selection of available pieces. Our in-store collection is broader, and some pieces — particularly custom and bespoke work — are best explored in conversation. We welcome enquiries by phone or email at any time.
